The CAAA is proud to support emerging pilots and aerial applicators with the Canadian Aerial Applicators Association Agricultural Aviation Scholarship!

Education. Support. Success.

This scholarship opportunity provides the platform for emerging pilots to strengthen the aerial application industry by supporting emerging professionals in this exciting industry. Scholarship recipients must use the funds towards flight training or agricultural coursework at an accredited university, college, community college or another institution of higher education, and each scholarship recipient must be sponsored by an active CAAA operator.

About the Scholarship

The CAAA Agricultural Aviation Scholarship awards one (1) one-year scholarships to (a) deserving, qualified student(s) participating in the following:

The CAAA, in conjunction with our corporate partnership, will award one $2,500 scholarship annually for the life of the program, with one awarded scholarship per applicant*

*The CAAA reserves our right to withhold the scholarship if a suitable application has not been received.

Scholarship Eligibility

The CAAA scholarship eligibility is as follows:

  • The entrant must be sponsored by a current CAAA member operator.
  • Prior winners of the CAAA Agricultural Aviation Scholarship are not eligible.

Scholarship Sponsors

The sponsors for the CAAA scholarship are required to:

  • Ensure the applicant for the scholarship is sponsored by a CAAA member operator.
  • The operator is only sponsoring one applicant per calendar year.

Scholarship Application Process

The applicant for the scholarship must:

  • Fill out ALL application sections.
  • Once completed, must sign the application and provide it to the CAAA member operator sponsor.

Deadline to Submit Your Application

The deadline for the scholarship application process must be received and/or postmarked no later than December 31 of the calendar year.

The scholarship funds will be made available for the calendar year (from January 1 to December 31, depending on the timeline of the program the applicant is registered for).

Process

The CAAA operator sponsor will complete the CAAA Agricultural Aviation Scholarship Sponsor form and include a letter of recommendation. This package will then be submitted here.

Application Checklist

Recipient Selection

The CAAA chooses the recipient of our scholarship as follows:

  • All applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
    • The need, prior experience, likelihood of retention in the aerial application industry
    • The strength of the operator’s recommendation letter, and the strength of the applicant/candidate’s essay.
  • Applications will be reviewed, and winners chosen by the CAAA Awards Committee.
  • The winner(s) will be notified at the CAAA Annual Conference in February.

The decision of the CAAA Awards Committee is final.

Scholarship Payment

A tuition bill must be presented verifying enrollment of the applicant.

If tuition has been paid in full, upon proof of such payment, CAAA will remit payment to the scholarship recipient. Any funds paid directly to the applicant as part of this award not used for approved higher education expenses must be returned to CAAA.

Paid receipts for tuition or higher education expenses must be provided. Scholarship recipients must provide proof of expenses to CAAA by June 1 of the year following the award to receive funds*
