Canadian Aerial Applicators Association

The Impact of the CAAA

The impact of the CAAA is vastly understated when it comes to the understanding of Canada’s agricultural industries. The CAAA believes in creating the following opportunities:

Education

The CAAA aims to strengthen the education surrounding aerial applicators, and how “aerial application” is defined. Aerial application is more than using the outdated term “cropdusting”, it is so much more than that!

Aerial application is an incredibly important part of the agricultural sector in the country. The industry of aerial application has evolved in so many ways, and continues to evolve year over year. The CAAA continues to provide the resources required to maintain technological innovation in aerial applicator aircraft.

With advances in software, GPS and automated tools we use, each component ensures consistent, accurate coverage. We’re taking the guesswork out of aerial application!

Aerial application continues to provide safe, efficient and scientifically backed education for all, ensuring we maintain the professional standards of the aerial applicator industry.

Sustainability

The CAAA is proud to highlight our sustainability efforts across the industry.

Aerial applicators take pride in providing sustainable methods for the food that appears on the kitchen tables of all Canadians, ensuring the products and the methods we use ensure larger crops within the food supply chain are protected.

With new, emerging diseases, and pests a prevalent source of frustration for many in Canadian agriculture, aerial applicators are responsible for ensuring the protection of millions of acres of crops annually.

Plane landing in the winter

The quick, accurate response and deployment of crop outputs ensures the viability of Canadian crops, and helps maintain their health to the highest, most rigorous standards.

These applications can also be applied to the health and sustainability of Canadian forests, with our large, expansive forests being susceptible to the same pests and disease as our food sources! With similar processes and similar technology, our aerial applicators have been responsible for protecting Canadian forests for many decades, and will continue to lead the way forward in sustainable agricultural practices.

Safety

Working in tandem with farmers, our members and government agencies, the CAAA works hard to maintain rigorous safety standards for aerial applicators across the country.

The CAAA advocates for the protection of people involved in this industry, and ensures the safety and protection of aerial applicators both in and out of the field.

Our commitment to maintaining safety standards ensures proper collaboration between members and producers alike. We strive to ensure the highest standards are met on a daily basis and that our regulatory practices remain compliant with provincial and federal laws.
